Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.55am Saturday 8th June 2024
Weather Forecast: Sunny, with a top temperature of 21-22°
Wind Forecast: 5-10kts Westerly early, freshening a little through the day and possibly swinging NW/NE on the Gold Coast this afternoon
Swell: 0.5m E/SE
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 9.03am … Low @ 2.53pm
Snapper Rocks: High @ 9.15am … Low @ 2.47pm
Best waves: Another day of small swell and the best chance of waves would be to hunt for beach breaks along the open beaches
Best Beaches: A cool, sunny day is expected. The forecast air temperature is 21-22° and water temperature is about the same. Despite the Westerly winds being light, there will be some wind chill factor, so finding a spot up against the dunes where there’s some shelter from the wind, would be ideal. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the mid morning to mid afternoon ebb tide, so despite the small swell, swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
