Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.40am Wednesday 10th April 2024
Weather Forecast: Sunny with a top temperature of 27 degrees
Wind Forecast: 10kts W/SW early, freshening to 15kts SW this morning, easing to 10-15kts and becoming Southerly this afternoon
Swell: 0.75m Easterly
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 8.50am … Low @ 3.07pm
Snapper Rocks: High @ 9.07am … Low @ 3.09pm
Best waves: With W/SW winds forecast for this morning, there’ll be waves on the beach breaks and small ones on the points, which will be a bit too full either side of the mid morning high tide, but will improve as the tide falls off. During the day, if the wind swings Southerly as forecast, the cleanest waves will be on the points and in the bays on the northern side of headlands
Best Beaches: It should be a sunny day and the most pleasant beaches in the forecast SW, becoming Southerly winds will be the bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay. There are inshore holes and gutters along the beaches, particularly the open stretches and on the ebb tide from late morning to mid afternoon, any rips and sweep working around those holes and gutters will be enhanced, as the water drains off the beach, so make sure you swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
