Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued 5.35am 2nd February 2024
Wind:
5-10kt SW/S winds early, forecast to become 10kts E/NE on the Sunshine Coast and 10-15kts N/NE on the Gold Coast during the day
Swell:
Easterly: 0.75-1m on the Gold Coast & 1-1.2m on the Sunshine Coast
Tides:
Low 6.30am & 7pm … High 12.30pm
Best waves:
Based on today’s wind forecast, the best quality waves will be this morning on the points at Burleigh, Currumbin Alley, from Snapper Rocks to Coolangatta, Moffats, The Bluff at Alex and small ones at Noosa, with the outer bays having a bit more size
Best Beaches: The forecast is for a sunny day, so good for the beach, but remember to use sun protection. The best time for a swim will be this morning while the wind is light SW/S and the tide making. Swim only in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags, particularly this afternoon on the ebb tide, when the water draining off the beach will enhance the rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters
