“The Re-Fit — David Pleysier”
Avalon II is an exceptional David Pleysier built 50 foot game fisher — recently restored to an incredible standard that left no detail untouched. In this first episode of the “Avalon II Re-Fit Series”, we talk to her legendary builder, David Pleysier, about her origins. Avalon II was a significant boat for Pleysier, being the first to incorporate a number of his individual design concepts, subsequently implemented into his future boats. Pleysier collaborated very successfully with the famous C. Raymond Hunt nautical engineering firm in the U.S. during this time — progenitors of the “Deep V” hull shape — and designers of several iconic Pleysiers, including Avalon II. Avalon II’s restoration has been extraordinary, across two separate major projects, and this series takes you inside. Episode 1 introduces owner Peter Toohey, who project managed the second of these.
