Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.50am Sunday 23rd June 2024
Weather Forecast: Gold Coast: Mostly sunny morning, with a 40% chance of showers, most likely this afternoon and evening, and a top temperature of 20°
Sunshine Coast: Sunny, with a top temperature of 21°
Wind Forecast: 5-10kts SW this morning, becoming 10kts S/SW during the day, possibly freshening a bit on the Gold Coast this afternoon
Swell: 0.5m SE/E
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 8.38am … Low @ 2.30pm
Snapper Rocks: High @ 8.32am … Low @ 2.14pm
Best waves: Another day of small swell and there’s not much doing for surfers, apart from tiny sliders on the points either side of low tide, or on the beach breaks
For some surfing history, check the daily videos from the Coastwatch Vault at the bottom of this page
Best Beaches: The best beaches in the forecast S/SW winds will be the bays at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay. The forecast top temperature is 20-21° and the water temperature is between 18 and 19°. Although the swell is tiny, you should still swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags, as there’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the mid morning to mid afternoon ebb tide
