Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.50am Tuesday 14th May 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: Mostly sunny with a top temperature of 25°

Wind Forecast: 10kts W/SW early, becoming 10-15kts S/SW this morning and 15kts plus S/SE this afternoon

Swell: 1m E/SE on the northern ends of the Sunshine and Gold Coasts and along the Tweed Coast. Smaller in the bays on the north side of headlands, particularly the inner bays at Noosa

Tides: Mooloolaba: Low @ 7.46am & 6.32pm … High @ 1.04pm

Snapper Rocks: Low @ 7.24am & 6.30pm … High @ 1.12pm

Best waves: The swell has decreased, but with light W/SW winds early, there’ll be fun waves on the beach breaks and the points. If the wind swings S/SW, then S/SE and freshens as forecast, the points and bays on the north side of headlands will be the best options

Best Beaches: With a forecast of a warm, mostly sunny day and the water temperature about 23°, it’ll be a nice day for the beach. The bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay will have the best conditions in the forecast SW/SE winds. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches and any rips and sweep working around those features, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the afternoon ebb tide, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
