Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.50am Monday 17th June 2024
Weather Forecast: Sunny, with a top temperature of 20-21°
Wind Forecast: 5-10kts W/SW early, becoming SW during the morning and freshening to about 10-15kts with stronger gusts at times
Swell: 0.75-1m SE on the northern ends of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and along the Tweed Coast. Smaller and more SE/E in the bays on the north side of headlands
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 4.04am & 5.23pm … Low @ 10.32am
Snapper Rocks: High @ 4.12am & 5.19pm … Low @ 10.34am
Best waves: Another day of small waves on the points, best either side of low tide when there’s less water on the banks. For a bit more size, check the beach breaks on the northern ends of the Sunshine & Gold Coasts and along the Tweed Coast
For some surfing history, check the daily videos from the Coastwatch Vault at the bottom of this page
Best Beaches: A cool sunny day is expected. Most beaches will be pleasant, but with SW winds forecast, there will be some wind chill factor, so finding a spot against the dunes or in front of high rise buildings, where there’s less wind, would be a good idea. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the morning ebb tide, so despite the small swell, swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
