Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.30am Sunday 31st March 2024
Weather: Partly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers on the Gold Coast and a 70% chance on the Sunshine Coast. The top temperature should be 26-27 degrees
Wind: Light S/SW early, forecast to become 10-15kts S/SE during the morning, tending more SE during the day
Swell: 1m E/SE on the open beaches. Smaller in the bays on the north side of headlands
Tides: Mooloolaba: Low @ 5.56am & 5.20pm … High @ 11.19am
Snapper Rocks: Low @ 5.55am & 5.20pm … High @ 11.32am
Best waves: With SE winds forecast again for today, the cleanest waves will be small ones on the points and in the bays on the north side of headlands. It’s been very crowded and early this morning while the wind is light S/SW, it might be worth looking for beach breaks to try and get a few less crowded waves
Best Beaches: The most pleasant beaches for a swim in the forecast SE winds will be in the bays at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay. Along the open stretches of beach, there’s deep holes and gutters and on this afternoon’s ebb tide, any rips and sweep working around them will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach. Keep an eye on family and friends and swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
