Is Papua New Guinea’s Black Bass the toughest fish in the world? Many people think so. Part of the Lutjanidae or snapper family the beast of PNG’s inshore rivers, creeks and lakes can bring a grown man to his knees. This is the domain of locked up drags and heart medication. Nothing can prepare you for the jolt through the rod as these prehistoric creatures slam your lure. If you have a weak link the Papuan black bass will find it. This vision was from back in 2014 when Pip Clement and Dave Granville were some of the first foreigners to fish Lake Murray Lodge.
