From the Coastwatch Vault, this story from March 1995, shows the research being undertaken by zoologist Peter Driscoll and the Qld Waders Study Group on the wading birds seen in Moreton Bay. Some of these birds migrate from thousands of miles away and are under threat due to loss of habitat and their ability to be able feed enough to make their journey every year. This situation has worsened since we did the story.
