From the Coastwatch Vault, this story shot in 1998 with Gold Coast guide Brad Smith shows that you can still enjoy fishing if you don’t own a boat. Brad walks the banks of the lower reaches of the Tweed River casting lures and catching a few fish. They weren’t monsters, but if you fish for the sport of it, this is fun. The tackle in the story is dated, but the same principle still applies today.
