From the Coastwatch Vault, this dive site profile on Kirra Reef was shot by Clint Hempsall in November 1995. Over the years since then, this reef has been covered in sand, mostly due to the sand pumping associated with the Tweed Bar sand bypass system. When there isn’t a lot of sand being pumped, the reef reappears.
