The spectacular 61’9 “Dolphin II”, designed by Ron Wright and launched by Norman R. Wright & Sons in 1967, was revelatory in a number of respects and remains a head-turner to this day. She was the first NRW launch to be built using the cold-molded construction technique (double diagonal oregon planking), and utilised a highly efficient hull form incorporating a “half and half” chine that became a benchmark and feature of NRW designs moving forward — delivering great performance and economy from her twin V8 Detroit diesels. A classic!
