WEEKEND OUTLOOK FOR 22nd, 23rd, 24th NOVEMBER 2024. ISSUED THURSDAY 21st Nov@ 12 noon.
WEATHER
The weekend ahead is predicted to be slightly cooler with temps ranging from 20 degrees overnight, to daytime temps of 26 degrees. The Easterly trend will continue for wind and swell with Southeast wind up to 20Kts Friday afternoon before slightly easing to 15Knts for the remainder of the weekend.

Hervey Bay / Fraser Island Coast
Tides & Moon: Early morning low tides around 8.30am will be great for a beach walk, and afternoon high tides around 2pm. For more tide and moon info, click here.
BEACH
The morning swims have been a bit messy with the cooler rainy mornings that we have had, and unfortunately this weekend is forecast to be much the same on the Gold and Sunshine Coast with current water temp warming up to 23 degrees. The best spots will be Greenmount on the Gold Coast and Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.
SURFING
The Gold and Sunshine Coast surf season is starting to take shape, with a nice run of consistent East swell holding firm at around 1.7m at 8 seconds which should see fun waves around 3-4ft on the open beaches and point breaks over the weekend and into next week. To escape the East winds, Snapper rocks through to Kirra will be the pick on the Gold Coast and Noosa National Park the best on the sunshine Coast.
BOATING & FISHING
With this combination of East swell and wind, the offshore fishing won’t be great and all bar crossings up and down the coast will be unpredictable and dangerous. This weekend will be best to find some shelter at the back of the creeks and rivers or canals.
As the water has warmed up, the Mangrove Jack have been going crazy, so get into the mangroves and try flicking top water splash prawns, or the Jackall Squirrel (79mm) hard body in pink eye Suji colour working great also.
Don’t forget to check out the comprehensive COASTWATCH FISHING REPORT on the website covering Hervey Bay to Evans Head.
Overall, a few possible showers, up to 15mm predicted for Friday but not much at all forecast for the weekend at this stage. Happy Hunting wherever you are!!
Nathan Meyer.
