SOUTH PACIFIC II | Episode 3
“A Moreton Bay Classic”
Despite her design origins in the United States, and early life in Sydney, the South Pacific II has in many ways become the definitive Moreton Bay classic. With a deep charter history, numerous fishing records and an omnipresent silhouette, she is forever connected with the Bay and her legendary former skipper, Ron Jenyns.
Fittingly, the boat played a central role in the establishment of what has become one of the great boating occasions, the annual “Moreton Bay Classic”
This Episode explores the establishment of this marvellous event by SP2’s new skipper, Jacob Oxlade — an occasion that recognises Ron Jenyns — going into the wheelhouse for the spectacular inaugural race. We also hear more about her imminent major works as she heads to the Norman R Wright & Sons shipyard.
