Moreton Bay Classic

Moreton Bay Classic
Coastal Events
On the back of some banter as to who had the faster classic cruiser, a novelty event idea gained traction, and in the space of a few short weeks, exploded into “the race that stopped the bay” .

A huge flotilla of classic cruisers made their way to the “starting line” off Green Island, and leaving at handicaps devised by Bill Wright, streamed across a picture perfect Moreton Bay to Peel Island for a rendezvous on the shore — and the presentation of the “Ron Jenyns Cup”.

This inaugural event was unexpectedly magical, and set the platform for a fabulous tradition that followed.
