Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.55am Saturday 1st June 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: The BOM is forecasting cloudy day, with showers becoming rain this afternoon and a top temperature of 23°

Wind Forecast: 10kts NW early, becoming 10-15kts Northerly during the morning

Swell: 0.75-1m E/NE

Tides:  Low @ 10am … High @ 4pm

Best waves: With the forecast NW/N winds, the cleanest conditions will be on the south side of the headlands at Sunshine Beach, Yaroomba, Kawana, Kings Beach Caloundra and from Southport Spit to Surfers Paradise

Best Beaches: It looks like the best time to go to the beach is this morning, when there should be showers ahead of rain expected this afternoon. The best beaches on the Sunshine Coast offering shelter from the forecast NW/N winds, will be on the south side of the headlands at Sunshine Beach, Kawana and Kings at Caloundra. On the Gold Coast, the best options will be from Southport Spit to Broadbeach

There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around those features, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the morning and late afternoon ebb tides, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
