Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.50am Thursday 13th June 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: Sunny, with a top temperature of 20-21°

Wind Forecast: 5-10kts SW/S early, becoming 10-15kts S/SW during the morning, easing late this afternoon

Swell: 0.75-1.2m E/SE on the Gold Coast. Smaller on the Sunshine Coast

Tides: Mooloolaba: Low @ 7.33am & 6.55pm … High @ 1.22pm

Snapper Rocks: Low @ 7.15am & 6.45pm … High @ 1.22pm

Best waves: Another day of small swell, but it’s a bit bigger than the past few days. It’s almost flat on the Sunshine Coast points, but there’s small long board sliders on the Gold Coast points. You could look for beach breaks on the open beaches this morning between Maroochydore and Caloundra and Currumbin to Coolangatta

For some surfing history, check the daily videos from the Coastwatch Vault at the bottom of this page

Best Beaches: A cool sunny day, with a top temperature is 20-21° is expected. The water temperature is about 21°. If the wind is S/SW as predicted, the most pleasant beaches will be the bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay, where there’s shelter from the wind. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the afternoon ebb tide, so despite the small swell, swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
