Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.50am Wednesday 19th June 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: Sunny, with a top temperature of 21-22°

Wind Forecast: 5-10kts NW/SW early, becoming SW during the morning and light and variable this afternoon, possibly NW/NE

Swell: 0.75-1m SE on the northern ends of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and more E/SE inside the bays on the north side of headlands. It’s bigger along the Tweed and Byron Coasts.

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 5.38am & 6.41pm … Low @ 11.46am

Snapper Rocks: High @ 5.45am & 6.27pm … Low @ 11.41am

Best waves: There’s small waves on the Gold Coast points, although they’ll be a bit full either side of high tide. Not much doing on the Sunshine Coast points and the inner bays at Noosa are almost flat. Might be a better plan to look for beach breaks along the open stretches of beach, or go for a drive south of the border, where the SE swell is bigger and check the Pass at Byron Bay, Broken Head and Lennox

For some surfing history, check the daily videos from the Coastwatch Vault at the bottom of this page

Best Beaches: Another typical winter’s day, sunny but cool. The water temperature is cooling down as it does in winter and is between 19 and 21°. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the morning ebb tide, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
