Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued at 5.45am 17th February 2024
Wind:
10kts SW/SE early, forecast to become 10-15kts SE during the morning, reaching 15kts plus this afternoon
Swell:
1-1.5m Easterly
Tides:
Low: 9am … High: 2.15pm
Best waves:
The long run of Easterly swell continues and with SE winds forecast the cleanest waves will be on the points, but expect them to be crowded
Best Beaches:
The forecast is for a partly cloudy day with a 50% chance of showers and possibly storms, mostly this morning. You can get sunburnt on cloudy days, so use sun protection.
With the Easterly swell, there’s a fair bit of water moving around, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags, particularly early this morning and from mid afternoon on the ebb tides. Although tidal differences are currently small, when the water drains off the beach as the tide falls off, any rips and sweep working in and around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced
