Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued at 5.35am 29th February 2024
Weather:
The forecast is for a mostly sunny day with a top temperature of 30 degrees
Wind:
5-10kts W/SW early, forecast to become 10kts E/SE this morning, tending E/NE during the day and NE this afternoon
Swell:
0.5-0.75m Easterly
Tides:
Low 4.30am & 5pm … High: 10.45am
Best waves:
The swell is still small and lacking power. While the wind is W/SW early, you could look for beach breaks on the open beaches. Once it swings E/SE, the bays on the northern side of headlands will be the best options and if it swings NE this afternoon, wave quality will deteriorate
Best Beaches:
Based on the forecast, it should be a nice day at the beach. Use sun protection and despite the swell being small, swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags and this morning on the making tide, will be safest, as when the tide is ebbing through the afternoon, any rips and sweep working in and around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced.
