Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued at 5.20am 26th February 2024
Weather:
The forecast is for a partly cloudy day with the chance of a few showers, more likely on the Sunshine Coast and a top temperature of 30 degrees
Wind:
5-10kts SW/S early, forecast to become 10-15kts SE during the morning, tending SE/E this afternoon
Swell:
0.5-1m Easterly
Tides:
High: 9.30am … Low 3.30pm
Best waves:
The swell has decreased a little more and lacks power and there’s fun waves on the Gold Coast points. It’s pretty small at Noosa and there’s a few sliders at The Bluff at Alex and Moffats
While the wind is light SW/S. there’s clean beach breaks on the open beaches. If it swings SE as forecast during the morning and SE/E this afternoon, the points will be the best option
Best Beaches:
Based on the forecast, the best beaches for a swim will the bays at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh. Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay and this morning on the making tide will be best. Use sun protection and swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
It was full moon Saturday night and there’s a big morning high tide, which will be ebbing from mid morning to mid afternoon. As the increased volume of water drains off the beach, any rips and sweep working in and around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced
