Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued 5.30am 8th February 2024
Wind:
Light S/SE early, forecast to become 10-15kts SE this morning, freshening to 15-20kts during the day
Swell:
0.75-1.2m Easterly
Tides:
High: 7am & 7.15pm … Low: 1.45pm
Best waves:
The easterly swell is much the same as yesterday and with SE winds blowing again today, there’s clean waves on the points.
Best Beaches:
The forecast is for a partly cloudy day with the chance of showers. The best beaches for a swim in SE winds are the sheltered bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay
It’s New Moon on Saturday night and there are big morning high tides. When those big high tides ebb, the increased volume of water draining off the beach, enhances the rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters. Use sun protection and swim only in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
