The annual barramundi closed season along Queensland’s east coast starts from midday 1st November to midday 1st February 2024 except in stocked impoundments.
Hervey Bay
Spotty mackerel, longtail and mack tuna off Rooney Point and in Platypus Bay, trevally around the inshore ship wrecks, coral trout, grassy sweetlip and mackerel on the shallow reefs, sand whiting along the town beaches, bream close to the rocky outcrops, flathead on the flats off Booral and in the lower reaches of the creeks, mangrove jack, grunter bream and whiting in the Burrum River and grunter bream, threadfin and blue salmon in the Mary River.
