SMALL BOAT BAR CROSSING

Wide Bay Bar between Inskip Point and Fraser Island has a justifiably bad reputation as a dangerous bar to cross particularly in small boats. But when conditions are right the Fisherman’s Gutter on the southern side of the bar can be a handy short cut for small boats. We regularly cross here but of course caution should always be taken and the captain is responsible for their actions. This video was filmed in August 2021 so please bae aware coastal bays can change rapidly.
