From the Coastwatch Vault, this story shot in October 1998 on live baiting flathead at Jumpinpin with experienced anglers Les Clark and Dave Smith shows how to go about it. These days a lot of flathead are caught on shorter sport fishing rods and reels and soft plastics. However, there are still plenty of anglers who like to use a longer rod, a trusty Alvey reel and bait, so although shot some time ago, the wisdom and experience in this story still applies.
