From the Coastwatch Vault, this story from April 1997 on a new Lightweight Sharpie built in Brisbane for Geoff Folliot. Although they’ve been around a long time, there were very few sailing in Queensland and the hope was that this new boat would stir interest and see others built. Another two were, but although very fast and competitive, there’s still not many sailed in Queensland and South & Western Australia are the states where they are popular.
