Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.55am Thursday 6th June 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: Gold Coast: Partly cloudy, with a top temperature of 22°

Sunshine Coast: Partly cloudy, with a slight chance of early morning showers and a top temperature of 23°

Wind Forecast: 10kts W/SW

Swell: 0.75m Easterly

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 7.29am & 8.15pm … Low @ 1.30pm

Snapper Rocks: High @ 7.54am & 8.20pm … Low @ 1.36`pm

Best waves: The early winter pattern of light offshore winds continues. The swell isn’t very big, but there’s waves on the beach breaks and the points, which are a bit full either side of this morning’s high tide, but will improve during the day, as the tide falls off and there’s less water on the banks

Best Beaches: A cool, partly cloudy is expected. The forecast air temperature is 22-23° and water temperature is about 22°. Despite the winds being light, there will be some wind chill factor, so finding a spot against the dunes where there’s less wind would be a good idea. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the morning to early afternoon ebb tide, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
