Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.55am Friday 21st June 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: Partly cloudy, with a top temperature of 24-25°

Wind Forecast: Light W/NW this morning, becoming NW/N during the day

Swell: 0.5m SE/E and lacking power

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 7.06am & 7.59pm … Low @ 1.04pm

Snapper Rocks: High @ 7.05am & 7.39pm … Low @ 12.50pm

Best waves: The swell is tiny and lacking power. Given the forecast of NW/N winds, even though they are expected to be light, there aren’t many options today, apart from little beach breaks on the south side of headlands or Southport Spit to Broadbeach. If you have to travel from Brisbane, it’s really not worth the drive

For some surfing history, check the daily videos from the Coastwatch Vault at the bottom of this page

Best Beaches: Today should be warm for this time of the year with an expected top temperature of 24-25°. The water temperature is cooler, between 19 and 21°. Due to the small swell Beach conditions are pretty safe for a swim, but you should still swim only in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around them, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the mid morning to early afternoon ebb tide
