Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.45am Wednesday 27th March 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather: Today’s forecast is cloudy with a 90-95% chance of rain and showers and a top temperature of 25-26 degrees

Wind: Onshore this morning and probably will be all day, although the forecast models are indicating it could swing more E/SE during the day and be 15kts or stronger

Swell: 1m E/SE and messy

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 9.06am … Low @ 3.14pm … Snapper Rocks: High @ 8.47am … Low @ 2.54pm

Best waves: If you have to drive to have a surf, save the fuel. Onshore winds have blown through the night and it’s messy. Winds may go more E/SE during the day. If that happens there might be a few waves on the points and in the inner bays on the north side of headlands, but don’t expect it to be very good

Best Beaches: With showers, rain and onshore winds forecast for today, it’s not looking like a pleasant day at the beach. If you do go for a swim, do it in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags. On the ebb tide from mid morning to mid afternoon, any rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach, particularly along the open stretches of beach
