Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.45am Monday 8th April 2024
Weather Forecast: Partly cloudy with a chance of morning showers, becoming mostly sunny during the day and a top temperature of 29 degrees
Wind Forecast: 5-10kts W/SW early, becoming 10kts S/SE this morning, then SE/NE during the day
Swell: 1-1.5m Easterly
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 7.35am … Low @ 1.54pm
Snapper Rocks: High @ 7.40am … Low @ 1.57pm
Best waves: Look for beach breaks on the open beaches while the wind is light W/SW. The points will become a bit too full as the tide makes to a big morning high, but will improve as the tide falls off. If the wind swings SE/NE during the day as predicted, wave quality won’t be as good
Best Beaches: It’s looks like a better day for the beach. It’s new moon tomorrow night, which means big tidal differences, so make sure you swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags. There are inshore holes and gutters along the beaches, particularly the open stretches and on the ebb tide from mid morning to mid afternoon, any rips and sweep working around those holes and gutters will be enhanced, as the extra volume of water drains off the beach
