Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.40am Tuesday 9th April 2024
Weather Forecast: Partly cloudy with a top temperature of 28 degrees
Wind Forecast: 5-10kts SW early, becoming 10-15kts during the morning
Swell: 0.75-1m Easterly
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 8.17am … Low @ 2.30pm
Snapper Rocks: High @ 8.24am … Low @ 2.33pm
Best waves: With SW winds forecast, there’ll be fun waves on the beach breaks and the points, which will be a bit too full either side of a mid morning high tide, but will improve as the tide falls off
Best Beaches: The most pleasant beaches today in the forecast SW winds will be the bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay. It’s new moon tonight, which means big tidal differences. There are inshore holes and gutters along the beaches, particularly the open stretches and on the ebb tide from mid morning to mid afternoon, any rips and sweep working around those holes and gutters will be enhanced, as the extra volume of water drains off the beach, so make sure you swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
