Surf & Beach Report

Weather: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers on the Gold Coast and a 60% chance on the Sunshine Coast. The top temperature should be 27 degrees.

Wind: Light S/SW early, forecast to become 10-15kts S/SE during the morning, reaching 15kts plus at times during the day and tending more SE

Swell: 1m E/SE on the open beaches. A bit smaller in the bays on the north side of headlands

Tides: Mooloolaba: Low @ 5am & 4.40pm … High @ 10.37am

Snapper Rocks: Low @ 4.54am & 4.29pm … High @ 10.36am

Best Waves: With SE winds forecast, the points and bays on the north side of headlands will have the cleanest waves. but it’s Easter and will be very crowded. Early this morning while the wind is light S/SW, it might be worth looking for beach breaks to try and get a few less crowded waves

Best Beaches: Being Easter, the beaches are crowded and the beach patrols will be working hard to keep everyone safe, so keep an eye on family and friends and make sure you swim in the in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags. The most pleasant beaches for a swim in the forecast S/SE winds will be in the bays at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay.

On the ebb tide from late morning through the afternoon, any rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach, particularly along the open stretches
