Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued at 5.30am 15th March 2024
Weather:
The forecast is for a mostly sunny morning, becoming partly cloudy during the day with a 50% chance of late showers and a top temperature of 29 degrees
Wind:
5-10kts SW early, forecast to become 15-20kts SE this morning
Swell:
1-1.5m Easterly with the odd bigger one
Tides:
Low 6am & 5.30pm … High 11.30am
Best waves:
The swell has dropped today and with the light offshore wind early, there’s options on the beach breaks and the points. If the forecast is right, winds should become moderate to fresh SE during the morning and when that happens, the points and bays on the north side of headlands will be the only places to find clean waves
Best Beaches:
Despite the swell decreasing, still be careful swimming in the surf. There will be new and possibly unstable sand banks formed after a week of big swell and they can quickly collapse causing flash rips. The best beaches in the forecast SE winds will the bays on the northern side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay. Use sun protection and swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
