Weather & Coastal Conditions
Some absolutely fantastic weather is forecasted for the gold and Sunshine Coast this Easter long weekend, with sunny days and light offshore winds each morning then turning to North East sea breezes by the afternoons, from Friday right through until Tuesday.
A solid ocean swell from the East will see large and hazardous surf conditions Friday and Saturday before easing off Sunday and Monday.

Tides, Beach, Ocean Swimming
Low tides around 6am each day at 0.8m, great for a beach walk, and high tides around 12 noon at 1.15m forecast for the GC seaway
If you’re looking for an ocean swim, there is some solid swell lingering. Currumbin Creek and Tally creek should be nice by about 9am on the incoming tides all weekend
Mooloolaba will be the best spot in the Sunshine Coast with water temps a balmy 24 degrees.
See detailed Tides information here.

Surfing
For the surfers, it’s a great weekend to go on the search with some excellent swell in the 4-5ft range Friday and Saturday. Snapper through to Kirra will all be firing, but if you want to get away from the crowds, check a few open beaches up and down the coast with the light winds early and try to Find a bank all to yourself.
The Swell is Dropping out by Sunday and Monday, however, thanks to Ex tropical Cyclone Alfred which ripped all the sand off our beaches and deposited it a few hundred metres offshore, creating excellent banks on the gold and Sunshine Coast in turn providing ultra long gliding rides for the foiling community!!

Beach Erosion
The Coastal erosion is significant at the northern end of the Gold Coast and right through Currimundi to Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast with large trees still being washed into the surf zone on the high tides so be careful swimming and surfing in these areas.

Fishing & Boating
For the fishos, there are light winds early Friday and Saturday, but there will be dangerous conditions on the coastal bars with the east swell and low tide combination.
Monday is looking to be the best offshore, with the morning incoming tides more favourable, so have the boat ready and get in early before the boat ramp fills up!

Finally a beautiful long weekend of Autumn weather on the way after months of rain, so get out and enjoy it!!!
