A closed season applies to snapper and pearl perch throughout Queensland tidal waters from 15 July to 15 August.

Hervey Bay

Trevally in the Gutters and Platypus Bay, school mackerel on the inshore reefs, bream, bonito, squid, longtail tuna and school mackerel around the Urangan jetty, bream and whiting on the flats in Sandy Straits, sand whiting on the making tide along the beaches from Urangan to Burrum Heads, flathead and grunter bream in the creeks that run off Sandy Straits, flathead, tailor, whiting, grunter bream, mangrove jack and barramundi in the Burrum River, grunter bream, threadfin and blue salmon in the Mary River and flathead, bream and mulloway at River Heads.

Fraser Island

Dart, whiting and chopper tailor along the eastern beaches. A reminder that there is a total fishing ban from midday August 1st until midday September 30th, in an area from 400m south of Indian Head to 400m north of Waddy Point and 400m seawards of those locations.
