Australian Bass closed season all Queensland tidal waters from 1 June to 31 August.
Hervey Bay
Pearl perch, jobfish, flame snapper and bar cod in 200 metres, red emperor, amberjack, yellowtail king in 30 to 50 metres, spanish mackerel on Sandy Cape shoals, snapper, grassy sweetlip and cod on the inshore reefs, longtail and mack tuna off Rooney Point and in Sandy Straits, diver whiting off Woodgate, River Heads and western side of Big Woody Island, sand crabs throughout the bay, bream, flathead, school mackerel and mack tuna off the Urangan jetty, bream, flathead and whiting in the Burrum River, mulloway at River Heads, bream in the lower reaches of the Mary River and blue salmon, bream, flathead and mud crabs in the creeks.
Fraser Island
There are good low tide gutters forming, so might be worth trying for a few dart, whiting and chopper tailor.
