The southern Spanish mackerel closed seasons for east coast waters south of latitude 22˚S (located slightly north of Stanage Bay, between Mackay and Yeppoon) to the NSW border are from 1st to 21st of February and 1st to 21st of March.

It is forecast to be windy in open waters. Best advice is to fish the sheltered waters in the creeks for mangrove jack, barramundi, estuary cod and mud crabs.
