Hervey Bay
Bream and queenfish around the bay islands, diver whiting off Gatakers Bay and Toogoom, blue salmon and whiting in Sandy Straits, bream and flathead off the Urangan Jetty and sand whiting on top of the tide along the beaches from Burrum Heads to Urangan; remember the minimum legal size for sand whiting is 23cm.
Fraser Island
Flathead at the mouth of the creeks along the western side of the island and dart, whiting, bream, mulloway and tarwhine along the eastern beaches. Caution is required when driving along the eastern side of the island, recent big swell and tides have made beach travel unsafe. Travelling on the low tide would be safest.
