Borumba Saratoga on Fly

05:37

From the Coastwatch Vault, this story on fly fishing for Saratoga on Borumba Dam with John Rowe was one of the most popular stories we produced on the show. It was shot in 1998 after a lot of rain had raised dam levels and was the perfect set up for “Rowie” to walk the banks stalking the fish. “Rowie” taught a lot of people to fly fish in Queensland, lived near the dam, was involved in the stocking, the hatchery, which is now closed and the display at the dam. He now lives in northern Tasmania and spends his time fly fishing for trout in the streams.
