Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.45am Tuesday 26th March 2024

Weather: Today’s forecast is cloudy with a 90-95% chance of showers and rain and a top temperature of 23-24 degrees

Wind: The wind forecast is for light S/SW early, becoming 10-15 kts E/SE during the morning. Showers and rain can cause fluctuations in wind speed and direction

Swell: 1m E/SE on the open beaches. Smaller in the inner bays on the north side of headlands

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 8.38am … Low @ 2.48pm … Snapper Rocks: High @ 8.18am … Low @ 2.30pm

Best waves: For the past few days, rain and showers have meant the winds have been light and variable in direction. It looks the same today. Best advice would be to look for beach breaks and small point waves while the wind is S/SW and see what it does during the day

Best Beaches: Cloudy with showers and rain is the forecast again for today, not good beach weather. The best and safest beaches for a swim will be the bays on the northern side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay

It was full moon last night, which means bigger tides, so on the ebb tide from mid morning to mid afternoon, any rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced as the extra volume of water drains off the beach, particularly on the open stretches of beach. Swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
