Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued at 5.45am 21st March 2024

Weather: The forecast is for a partly cloudy day with an 80-90% chance of showers and a top temperature of 27 degrees

Wind: Light S/SW early, forecast to become 15-20kts S/SE this morning, becoming more SE and freshening to 20kts plus this afternoon

Swell: 1.5m Easterly, with bigger sets, becoming more E/SE during the day

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 6.04am & 6.27pm … Low @ 12.40pm

Snapper Rocks: High @ 5.37am & 6.04pm … Low @ 12.13pm

Best waves: Given the forecast for fresh to strong S/SE winds, the points and bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Currumbin Alley, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay will be the go, although they are a bit full on the early high tide, but will improve through the morning as the tide falls off and there’s less water on the banks

Best Beaches: Not looking like a good beach day with frequent showers and fresh to strong S/SE winds forecasst. The best and safest options for a swim will be in the bays on the northern side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay, where there’s shelter from the wind . Swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
