Gold & Sunshine Coast Report Issued at 7pm 22nd March for Saturday 23rd March 2024
Weather: The forecast for tomorrow is for a partly cloudy day with a 50% chance of showers on the Gold Coast and a 70% chance of showers on the Sunshine Coast. The top temperature is predicted to be 27 degrees
Wind: Forecast to be 10-15kts S/SW early, becoming 15-20kts SE on the Sunshine Coast in the morning, easing through the day to 10-15kts. On the Gold Coast it’s forecast to be 10-15kts SE, with stronger gusts during the morning
Swell: 1-1.5m E/SE
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 7.12am & 7.32pm … Low @ 1.33pm … Snapper Rocks: High @ 6.48am & 7.13pm … Low @ 1.14pm
Best waves: It’s been typical March conditions, SE winds and good swell. This should continue tomorrow and the points and bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Currumbin Alley, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay will have the cleanest waves. They’ll be a bit full either side of high tide, but improve through the morning as the tide falls off and there’s less water on the banks
Best Beaches: Showers and fresh SE winds are forecast for tomorrow, so the best and safest options for a swim will be in the bays on the northern side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay, where there’s shelter from the wind
It’s full moon Monday night and the tides are getting bigger, so on the ebb tide through the morning until early afternoon, any rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach. Swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
