Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.55am Wednesday 5th June 2024

Surf & Beach Report

Weather Forecast: The BOM is forecasting a mostly sunny day, with a top temperature of 22°

Wind Forecast: 5-10kts NW/SW early, forecast to become light and variable during the day

Swell: 0.75-1m Easterly

Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 6.40am & 7.30pm … Low @ 12.49pm

Snapper Rocks: High @ 7.06am & 7.38pm … Low @ 12.59pm

Best waves: There’s waves on the beach breaks and the points, which are a bit full early on the high tide, but will improve on the lower parts of the tide, when there’s less water on the banks

Best Beaches: A cool mostly sunny day is expected. The forecast air temperature is 22°, about the same as the water temperature. Despite the winds being light, there will be some wind chill factor, so finding a spot against the dunes where there’s less wind would be a smart move. There’s inshore holes and gutters along those open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around those features, will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the morning ebb tide, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
