Weather Forecast: The BOM is forecasting a partly cloudy, with a 90-95% chance of showers and storms, mostly from late morning through the afternoon and a top temperature of 24°. However at 10.45 this morning, the BOM radar is showing all shower activity is off the coast. It may come back onto the coast this afternoon
Wind Forecast: 5-10kts SW/S early, becoming variable during the morning, most likely light SE on the Gold Coast and E/SE on the Sunshine Coast
Swell: 1-1.2m E/SE on the northern ends of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and along the Tweed Coast: 1m E/SE in the bays on the northern side of headlands
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 5.34am & 6.13pm … Low @ 12.06pm
Snapper Rocks: High @ 5.41am & 6.20pm … Low @ 12.06pm
Best waves: There’s waves on the Gold Coast points and with light and variable winds forecast, there also should be waves on the beach breaks. It’s small in the inner bays at Noosa, but the outer bays may be worth a look
Best Beaches: The forecast is for a partly cloudy day, with a very high chance of showers and storms, but so far this morning, all shower activity is off the coast. Perhaps it will move back onto the coast this afternoon. There’s inshore holes and gutters along the beaches, particularly along the open stretches and as we approach the new moon on Wednesday night, tidal differences are increasing. Any rips and sweep working around those holes and gutters features, will be enhanced as the increased volume of water drains off the beach on the morning ebb tide, so swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
