Gold & Sunshine Coast Report issued at 5.45am Saturday 27th April 2024
Weather Forecast: Partly cloudy, with 60-70% chance of showers, most likely from late morning through the afternoon and a top temperature of 23-24°
Wind Forecast: 10kts S/SW early, becoming 10-15kts SE during the morning and reaching 15kts plus along the open stretches of beach
Swell: 1m Easterly
Tides: Mooloolaba: Low @ 4.13am & 3.37pm … High @ 9.42am
Snapper Rocks: Low @ 3.57am & 3.18pm … High @ 9.32am
Best waves: There’s been fun waves on the points the past few days. That looks like continuing today and tomorrow and Snapper Rocks to Greenmount has been the best quality, but very crowded. Waves will be a bit full either side of high tide and better on the lower parts of the tide. Early, while the wind is light S/SW, it will be worth looking for beach breaks between Maroochydore and Caloundra and Currumbin to Coolangatta
Best Beaches: In the forecast moderate to fresh SE winds, the bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay will be the most pleasant and safest beaches. There’s inshore holes and gutters, particularly along the open stretches of beach and any rips and sweep working around those features will be enhanced as the water drains off the beach on the mid morning to afternoon ebb tide. Swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
