Gold & Sunshine Coast Forecast Issued at 4.30pm Saturday 23rd March for Sunday 24th March 2024
Weather: The forecast for tomorrow is for a partly cloudy day with an 80% chance of showers and a top temperature of 23 degrees on the Gold Coast and a 70% chance of showers and a top temperature of 26 degrees on the Sunshine Coast
Wind: Light S/SW early, becoming 10-15kts SE during the morning
Swell: 1–1.5m E/SE on the open beaches, a bit smaller in the inner bays on the north side of headlands
Tides: Mooloolaba: High @ 7.42am & 8.02pm … Low @ 1.59pm … Snapper Rocks: High @ 7.20am & 7.44pm … Low @ 1.41pm
Best waves: Tomorrow looks like a replay of today, with the points and bays on the north side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Currumbin Alley, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay having the cleanest waves. They’ll be a bit full either side of high tide, but should improve late morning as the tide falls off and there’s less water on the banks. It’s been very crowded on the points and it might be worth looking for early beach breaks while the wind is SW/S, to get a few waves with less people
Best Beaches: Showers and light to moderate SE winds are forecast for tomorrow, so the best and safest options for a swim will be in the bays on the northern side of the headlands at Noosa, Mooloolaba, Burleigh, Kirra, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay
It’s full moon Monday night, which means bigger tides, so on the ebb tide from mid morning to mid afternoon, any rips and sweep working around the inshore holes and gutters will be enhanced as the extra volume of water drains off the beach. Swim in the patrolled areas marked by the red and yellow flags
