Fishing Report

The annual barramundi closed season along Queensland’s east coast starts from midday 1st November to midday 1st February 2024 except in stocked impoundments.

Hervey Bay

Spanish, spotty, school and broad barred mackerel in the main shipping channels, spotty mackerel, longtail and mack tuna in Platypus Bay, coral trout, cod, sweetlip, blackall and pencil squid on the inshores at Moon Ledge, Big Woody Island and Gatakers Bay, trevally, queenfish, school and broad barred mackerel off the Urangan jetty, garfish around the rock groynes, threadfin salmon, grunter bream and school jew in the Mary and Susan Rivers and flathead, grunter bream and mangrove jack in the Burrum River.

Tin Can Bay

Queenfish and mack tuna at Inskip Point, flathead on the flats in Tin Can Inlet, sand whiting on the making tide in Teebar Creek, blue salmon between Garry’s Anchorage and Fig Tree Creek, mangrove jack in the creeks and squid around the moored boats.
