Hervey Bay

Red emperor, snapper, pearl perch, sweetlip, jobfish and cod on the outer reefs, school mackerel throughout the bay, tailor, queenfish and school mackerel in Sandy Straits, diver whiting off Gatakers Bay, Toogoom, Woodgate, Poona and Tinnanbar, snapper around Moon Ledge and the artificial reefs, trevally on the deep inshore reefs, trevally, bream, flathead, school mackerel and a few mulloway off the Urangan jetty, flathead, grunter bream, blue and threadfin salmon in the Mary River, sand crabs in the central and western bays and bream, flathead, whiting, grunter bream and mud crabs in the creeks.

Rainbow Beach Offshore

Pearl perch, snapper, wrasse, sweetlip, tuskfish, cod and red emperor about 8nm east of Wide Bay Bar.

Tin Can Bay

Mack tuna at Inskip Point and The Bluff, flathead, bream and trevally on the flats at the mouth of Teebar Creek, trevally in Snapper, Kauri and Teebar Creeks and squid around the moored boats.

Noosa

Bream throughout the Noosa River, grunter bream along the Tewantin reach and trevally and tailor in Woods Bay.

Flathead and flounder at the Noosa River mouth, flathead along the Tewantin reach, trevally in Woods Bay and bream in the Frying Pan.

Snapper, pearl perch, gold band snapper and cobia off Double Island Point, at North and Sunshine Reefs.

Pearl perch, snapper, amberjack and hussar on the Barwon Banks and pearl perch, sweetlip, spanish mackerel and tuna at North Reef.

Maroochydore

Bream throughout the Maroochy River, flathead along the Bli Bli reach and at the creek mouths, trevally around the Motorway Bridge pylons, sand whiting and sand crabs in the lower reaches and a few mud crabs in the mid to upper reaches.

Mooloolaba

Snapper and pearl perch on the Barwon Banks, school mackerel on the inshore reefs, bream, whiting, tarwhine and a few tailor along the beaches, bream around the rock walls, pontoons and jetties in the Mooloolah River and school jew in the upper reaches.

Snapper, grassy sweetlip and a few school mackerel at Raper Shoal and grassy sweetlip at Murphys Reef.

Snapper, pearl perch, tuskfish, hussar, amberjack and yellowtail king at the Hards and snapper in the shipping channel.

Caloundra

School mackerel on the inshore reefs, dart, whiting, bream and a few tailor along the beaches and bream and flathead in Pumicestone Passage.

Donnybrook

Diver whiting off Mission Point and Little Goat Island, flathead and bream along the drop offs, squid at Poverty Creek mouth and school jew at 112.

Bribie Island

Tailor and school mackerel at Skirmish Point, off Cooks Rocks and Sandstone Point, squid around the Bribie Bridge, bream and mulloway in Pacific Harbour canals, sand whiting on the flats off Sandstone Point, sweetlip and snapper at night at the Ripples and flathead on the ebb tide at White Patch.

Northern Moreton Bay

Snapper at Harry Atkinson artificial reef, Bulwer Ledge and near Cooks Rock, diver whiting off Scarborough and on the Cockle Banks, squid at night around the jetties at Redcliffe Peninsula and flathead on trolled hard bodies at the mouth of the Caboolture and Pine Rivers.

Redcliffe Peninsula

Tailor, flathead and school jew in Bramble Bay, diver whiting in Deception Bay and on the Cockle Banks, bream, tailor, snapper, flathead and squid around the inshores, rocky points and jetties and flathead, bream, whiting and school jew in the Pine River and Hays Inlet.

Moreton Bay Offshore

Snapper, pearl perch, jobfish and mahi mahi at Deep Tempest.

Brisbane River – Northern Moreton Bay

School mackerel in the Rous Channel, between Myora Light and Amity Point, diver whiting around the old compass adjustment buoy and bream and snapper in the lower reaches of the Brisbane River.

Wynnum Manly

Snapper around Green Island, Harry Atkinson and West Peel artificial reefs, school mackerel close to the Huybers Beacon and in the Lazaret Gutter, diver whiting on the Amity and Maroom Banks, arrow squid near King Island and snapper and mulloway in the lower reaches of the Brisbane River.

Nth Stradbroke Island

Fish all beaches for dart, whiting, bream, flathead and tailor.

Redland Bay

Snapper at Harry Atkinson and West Peel artificial reefs, school mackerel on the Hope Banks, bream in the shallows around Mud Island, flathead on the banks in the southern bay and chopper tailor on top of the tide at Cleveland Point.

Snapper around Peel and Goat Islands and bream and flathead between the Logan River mouth and Cabbage Tree Point.

Jumpinpin

Sand whiting near the Pig Sties, Marks Rocks and in Fishermans Channel, flathead around the Powerlines, Kalinga Bank and Tabby Tabby Island and mulloway at the entrance to Swan Bay.

Tailor in the surf at South Straddie, mulloway inside the Pin Bar and bream around Jacobs Well jetty.

Southport

Flame snapper, blue eyed and bar cod in about 200 to 500 metres, striped marlin on the Continental Shelf, yellowtail king on live bait on the 50s, snapper and pearl perch on the 24s and 36s, silver and trag jew on the 18s and 24s, dart, bream and a few tailor along the beaches, trevally, mulloway and tarpon in Southport Seaway, flathead on the banks in Southport Broadwater and bream at the mouth of the rivers and creeks.

Striped marlin and yellowfin tuna on the Continental Shelf, pearl perch and snapper in 80 metres east of Southport and flathead and tailor inside the Pin Bar.

Currumbin

A few tailor along the beaches, flathead, bream and whiting in the lower reaches of the creeks and a few mud crabs in the canals.

Tweed Coast

Bream, whiting and flathead in the lower reaches of the Tweed River.

Snapper, pearl perch, tuskfish and moses perch on the 30s NE of the Tweed.

Pottsville

Dart, bream and a few tailor along the beaches, bream, flathead, whiting and a few mud crabs in the mid to upper reaches of the creeks and luderick around the rock walls in the lower reaches.

Evans Head

Snapper and trag jew on Kahors Reef, pearl perch and mahi mahi around the FADs, bream, flathead, tailor and a few mulloway along Airforce Beach, bream, trevally and luderick along the rock walls at the Evans River mouth, bream, flathead and whiting in the lower reaches and a few mangrove jack in the upper reaches.

FRESHWATER FISHING

Boondooma Dam

Bass on lures at Pelican Point and the Junction and golden perch on bait at the start of the timber in the Boyne River.

Bjelke Petersen Dam

Golden perch at dusk on ZX40s around the timber in the main basin.

Borumba Dam

Bass on blades and jigs in the deeper parts and saratoga on surface lures around the weed edges and lily pads.

Lake Kurwongbah

Bass on trolled hard bodies in the deeper parts.

Lake Samsonvale

Bass on spoons off the bank at Forgan Cove, Bullocky Rest and MacGavin View.

Hinze Dam

Bass and a few golden perch bobbing live shrimp around the submerged timber.

Wivenhoe Dam

Bass and golden perch on crank baits and vibes from Billies Bay to Hays Inlet.

Moogerah Dam

Bass on soft vibes and blades around the Spit and tree lined edges.

Maroon Dam

Bass on small soft plastics and blades around the dam edges.
