Hervey Bay

School mackerel and queenfish on the inshore reefs, coral trout, grassy sweetlip, cod, moses perch and grunter bream at Gatakers Bay, school mackerel and queenfish during the day and tarpon at night off the Urangan jetty, sand whiting and flathead on the making tide along the beaches from Burrum Heads to Urangan, threadfin salmon and grunter bream in the Mary River and mud crabs in the rivers and creeks.

Rainbow Beach Offshore

Conditions have been unfavourable for offshore fishing, will fish again once the seas settle.

Noosa

Bream, flathead and a few whiting in the lower reaches of the Noosa River and mud crabs along the Tewantin reach.

Flathead, queenfish and mangrove jack along the Tewantin reach of the Noosa River, flathead and grunter bream in Lake Cooroibah and moses perch and tarwhine in Woods Bay.

Pearl perch, sweetlip, snapper and tuskfish at Sunshine Reef.

Pearl perch, tuskfish, sweetlip, spanish and spotty mackerel on Sunshine Reef.

Maroochydore

Flathead and trevally at the mouth of the Maroochy River, sand whiting between the river mouth and Chambers Island, bream around the Motorway Bridge pylons, flathead at the creek mouths and mud crabs in the middle reaches.

Mooloolaba

Sand whiting in the low tide gutters along Kawana and Warana beaches, flathead and whiting at the mouth of the creeks that run off Pumicestone Passage, trevally at night near the trawler moorings in the Mooloolah River and it would be worth setting a few pots for mud crabs.

Sweetlip and snapper near the new bar at Caloundra.

Spanish mackerel, tuskfish and amberjack on the Barwon Banks and mahi mahi around the FADs.

Caloundra

Mack tuna on the inshore reefs, flathead, bream, whiting and mud crabs in Pumicestone Passage and mangrove jack in the creeks and canals.

Donnybrook

Flathead and bream along the drop offs, small snapper at 112 and Glasshouse Creek mouth, grunter bream at Mission Point and 112, trevally in the main channel off Donnybrook, sand crabs downstream from Toorbul and mud crabs in the lower reaches of the creeks.

Bribie Island

Longtail tuna and school mackerel at the southern entrance to the Passage, flathead at Sandstone Point, sand whiting on the banks and grunter bream along the ledge at Banksia Beach, bream, whiting and tarwhine near the oyster leases at Ningi Creek mouth and sand crabs in Deception Bay.

Northern Moreton Bay

Longtail and mack tuna in the northern bay, bream, flathead and whiting on the making tide at the mouth of the Pine and Caboolture Rivers, sand crabs off Scarborough and in Deception Bay and it would be worth setting a few pots for mud crabs in the creeks.

Redcliffe Peninsula

Snapper and school jew around the inshore reefs and rocky points, bream, flathead and whiting in the Pine River and Hays Inlet, bream, flathead and school jew off the Ted Smout fishing platform, a few tailor along the eastern side of the Peninsula and sand crabs in Bramble and Deception Bays.

Moreton Bay Offshore

Conditions have been unfavourable for offshore fishing, will fish again once the seas settle.

Brisbane River – Northern Moreton Bay

Diver whiting on the eastern side of Fishermans Island, threadfin salmon, mulloway and mud crabs in the lower reaches of the Brisbane River, bream and flathead along the rock wall at Fishermans Island and at Boggy Creek mouth.

Wynnum Manly

Sweetlip and snapper around Green Island, flathead on Lota flats and bream in Manly Harbour.

Wellington Pt

School mackerel around Green Island, flathead on the ebb tide along Wellington Point foreshores and sand crabs near the beacons off Wellington Point.

Nth Stradbroke Island

Flathead, bream and whiting along Dunwich foreshores, flathead around Amity Point and longtail tuna on live bait off the Amity jetty.

Redland Bay

Sweetlip and a few snapper on the shallow reefs, diver whiting on the Chain and Hope Banks, school mackerel in the Rous and Rainbow Channels, sand whiting at Tingalpa Creek mouth and bream in Raby Bay canals.

Bream and small snapper on the flood tide around Coochiemudlo Island.

Jumpinpin

Flathead in the deep water at the entrance to Swan Bay, around Oak, Pandanus and Dinner Islands, sand whiting on Gold Bank, near the Pig Sties and in Fishermans Channel and bream along Kalinga Bank and at Rocky Point.

Sand whiting near Slipping Sands, bream around Jacobs Well jetty and mud crabs in the Pimpama and Logan Rivers.

Southport

Bream, whiting, flathead and tarpon in Southport Broadwater, flathead and a few tailor inside the Pin Bar and mud crabs in the rivers and creeks.

Sand whiting inside the Pin Bar and banana prawns around Jacobs Well.

Currumbin

A few tailor at dawn and dusk along the beaches, flathead, whiting and mangrove jack in the creeks and it would be worth setting a few pots for mud crabs.

Tweed Coast

Flathead, bream, whiting, trevally and grunter bream in the middle reaches of the Tweed River.

Conditions have been unfavourable for offshore fishing, will fish again once the seas settle.

Pottsville

Bream, flathead, whiting and a few tailor along the beaches, bream, whiting and flathead in the lower reaches of the creeks and mud crabs in the middle reaches.

Evans Head

Bream, whiting and school jew along Airforce Beach, bream and school jew along the rock walls at the Evans River mouth and bream, whiting, flathead and mud crabs in the lower reaches.

FRESHWATER FISHING

Hinze Dam

Bass on spinner baits along the newly flooded grassy banks.

Lake Manchester

Bass and spangled perch on slowly worked blades and soft plastics through the weed beds.

Moogerah Dam

Bass and golden perch on jerk baits and jackall TN60s around the weed edges and bass on medium to deep crank baits close to the timber.

Maroon Dam

Bass and golden perch on chatter baits and soft plastics in the deep water close to the timber, bass on cicada and frog surface lures around the dam edges and plenty of tilapia on worms throughout the dam. Remember tilapia are a noxious pest fish and should be disposed of in the bins provided.

Rivers

Bass on spinner baits downstream from the weir in the Brisbane River.
